Same words, same calm — coming soon. The complete transcript below teaches the identical lesson in about a minute of reading.

The transcript

On screen — a clock at 2:47 PM — “You just got hurt at work.”

You just got hurt at work. The next 24 hours matter more than the next 24 weeks.

On screen — “1. Get care”

First — get medical care. Emergency room for emergencies; a clinic today for everything else. And say these exact words: “This happened at work.” Those words put your injury into the workers' comp system, in writing, on day one.

On screen — “2. Tell your employer — in writing” · a text bubble

Second — report it to a supervisor, then back it up with one text or email: “Confirming what I told you today — I hurt my back lifting boxes around 2pm.” Thirty seconds of typing ends every future argument about whether you reported it.

On screen — “3. Name every body part” · body outline, three points glow

Third — tell the doctor about every part that hurts. Even the small ones. Body parts that aren't in the record are body parts that aren't in the claim.

On screen — “4. Photos. Witnesses. One folder.”

Photograph the scene, write down who saw it, and start one folder for everything. That's it — no lawyer required, no fees, just an ordinary person doing four ordinary things.

On screen — “Claims aren't won in courtrooms. They're won on day one.”

Claims aren't won in courtrooms. They're won on day one — by workers who wrote things down.
