What stays on your device
- No accounts, no sign-ups. There is nothing to register for, and reading any page sends us nothing about you or your claim.
- Tool data stays local. Checklists, the claim journal, dates, comparisons, and your Claim Confidence Score™ are saved in your browser's local storage — on your device, readable by no one but you, never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data (or the tools' own erase button) deletes it.
- Standard server logs. Like essentially every website, our hosting records standard technical logs (IP address, page requested, browser type, time) used for security and uptime. They're retained briefly and aren't used to build visitor profiles.
What you send us — the Free Case Review
The Free Case Review form is the one place on this site that collects personal information, and it collects only what you type into it: your state, what happened and when, claim status, name, phone, email, and any notes you add. Here is exactly what happens to it:
- Why we collect it: to connect you with a licensed workers' compensation attorney or law firm in your state for a free consultation — that is the form's entire purpose, and it's stated on the form.
- Who receives it: the participating law firm (or firms) matched to your state and situation, and any intake service working on that firm's behalf. We don't post it, publish it, or provide it to insurers or employers.
- The business relationship: participating firms pay Work Injury Payout LLC for these introductions. Because money changes hands, some privacy laws treat this as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — so we say it plainly here, and the choice to submit is always yours. We never sell information about people who merely read the site, because we don't have any.
- Contact consent: the form asks for your express consent to be contacted by phone, text, and email about your inquiry. Consent is required for the form (a firm that can't contact you can't help you) but never for using the rest of the site, and you can revoke it any time by telling us or the firm to stop.
- Retention: we keep inquiry records only as long as needed to make the introduction, resolve questions, and meet legal obligations — then they're deleted.
Your rights & choices
You can ask us, at any time, to access the information you submitted, correct it, delete it, or not to sell or share it (which for this site means: not to pass your inquiry to a participating firm, or to stop any further sharing). Email privacy@workinjurypayout.com with "privacy request" in the subject; we honor these requests regardless of which state you live in, without charge, and without any effect on your ability to use the site. Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights by statute, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we don't use or disclose sensitive personal information for anything beyond the purposes described here, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Analytics & cookies
The site's tools use local storage (described above), which is functional, on-device, and never leaves your browser. If we ever add traffic analytics, we'll choose a privacy-respecting approach, disclose it here first, and it will never include the contents of your on-device tool data.
What we still never do
- We never collect or transmit anything you type into the educational tools — the journal, checklists, calculators, and scores are yours alone.
- We never pass your information to anyone unless you submitted the Free Case Review form and consented to that introduction.
- We never provide reader information to insurers, employers, or data brokers.
- We don't use fear-based retargeting. If you leave, we let you leave.
Links to other sites
We link to official state agencies and occasionally other resources. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy covers only workinjurypayout.com. Once a participating law firm receives your inquiry, its handling of your information is governed by that firm's own policies and its professional obligations to you.
Children
This site is written for working adults and not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the effective date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted plainly on this page. Questions: privacy@workinjurypayout.com.
